I am a designer and researcher who is interested in using design to help integrate new technologies into society in a more meaningful and responsible way.
To achieve this, I use critical and speculative design approaches, posing "what-if" questions to create alternative futures, expand possibilities, and allow imagination. This approach brings those typically excluded from research and development into meaningful discussions on the societal impacts of emerging technologies.
Recently, I have also become interested in how tensions can be embodied through design artifacts for critical awareness and inquiry.
My core questions are; (1) How are new technologies shaping societies? (2) How do societies perceive and engage with these technologies? (3) How can critical and speculative design initiate discussions for the responsible development of these technologies?
